Motivational interviewing is "a person-centered counseling style for addressing the common problem of ambivalence about change" (Miller & Rollnick, 2013). The method can be used in a variety of roles to support patients seeking guidance with substance use and addiction, as well as across other disciplines. This subject guide highlights some of the MI resources available in the Northern Health Library for staff who are supporting patients with their recovery. Navigate the tabs above to find books, journal articles, and other resources to assist in your practice and understanding. The guide is intended to offer an accessible entry point into the topic and we welcome suggestions and recommendations.
